Swimming beneath the waves is a thrilling experience that takes people back to their childhoods, when they first learnt to swim and discovered all the delights that existed beneath the surface of oceans.
For recreational divers, the safest depth is to stay no deeper than 40 meters below the surface. This limit was put in place for safety reasons because, as long as divers have the proper gear and training, diving within these bounds is thought to be reasonably safe.
Scuba divers who already hold a PADI Open Water Diver Certification, are at least 12 years old, have sufficient swimming ability, and are in decent physical condition are the target audience for fun dives.
Diving into the sea helps your body gain control. Deep breathing underwater can help you focus and reduce anxiety. It also has a healthy and pleasant impact on how you feel.
Divers should not wear eyeglasses beneath their diving mask. Attempting to scuba dive with glasses can prevent the mask from creating a tight seal around the diver’s face.
The golden rule for ascending is to proceed slow and steady. Aim for no more than 30 feet (or approximately 9 meters) per minute. It’s like taking a gradual elevator up to the surface. This rate allows your body to safely release any additional nitrogen absorbed throughout your dive, reducing decompression sickness.
Dive insurance is mandatory by law when diving in Indonesia, but you may want to consider general travel insurance.
Most scuba diving certifications have a minimum age requirement of 10 years old, after which participants can begin their training courses and become certified divers.
